Flamingos Golf Resort is the wonderful brainchild of R&A group president Ricardo Arranz. There are ambitious plans to construct two further 18 holes, par 72 golf courses to complement the current 36 holes on offer.
Flamingos Golf Club
18 holes, 71 par, 6285 yards. Parkland with lakes.The Flamingos golf club was designed by the renowned architect Antonio Garcia Garrido. It was the first golf course to be built at the Flamingos resort and has already played host to the European Tour Seniors Match play. The golf course has perfectly placed elevated tees which offer beautiful views of the Mediterranean, Africa and Gibraltar. This course has been lovingly designed and crafted in a Tuscan style. Each hole features its own type of tree, including pines, olives, cypresses and chestnuts. On some of the fairways you will even find roman columns, statues and marble bridges. To add to the spectacular design of this golf course, it winds its way around the many lakes and the Arroyo Del Taraje stream which comes into play on the 1st and 10th holes in particular. For many, the highlight is the charming 10th with a huge undulating green fiercely protected by bunkers and lake.
Alferini Golf Club
18 holes, 73 par, 7260 yards. Parkland / Inland.The Alferini Golf Club used to be known as Gran Flamingo Golf Club. It is a fantastic addition to the Flamingos Golf Resort and was also designed by the brilliant Antonio Garcia Garrido. This 18 hole par 73 golf course was opened in November 2007. The layout has been described as being rather technical with long fairways and wide greens. There are 5 starting platforms on each tee, so although a testing course, all abilities get a fair chance. Like the other golf courses situated on the Flamingos resort this one also has breathtaking views. Set in a valley, this course is surrounded by mountains and is isolated from any buildings and noise. There are 2 lakes that feature around this golf course and a surrounding stream comes into play on most of the holes.
Tramores Golf Club
18 holes, 65 par, 3163 yards. Parkland.The shortest of the 3 courses designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido which opened in March 2010, Tramores Golf Club is located in a stunning valley just minutes from the other courses on site. It is par 63 and is ideal for a quick, fun round of golf or simply somewhere to warm up or really improve your skills. There is also an American Golf Academy which provides premium practice facilities in which to get a lesson or just hit some balls.
