Golf Course View

Benalup

18 holes, 73 par, 6641 yards. Parkland with lakes.

Benalup Golf is an 18 hole golf course featuring many water obstacles that will be a test to every golfer that graces its fairways. The course is situated in a unique environment with stunning views over the "La Janda" valley and the "Los Alcornocales" natural park. Playing golf has to be a pleasure, exclusive but still affordable, with respect for etiquette. The Benalup Golf Course is the result of the collaboration between several professionals. The course has been designed by the architect Paul Rolin, a former partner of Robert Trent Jones.

Alcaidesa Links

18 holes, 72 par, 5978 yards. Links.

This fantastic course was designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark, and is one of only a few true links courses in the country. It is truly reminiscent of a classic Scottish seaside layout, complete with heather and gorse bushes. There have been some recent improvements made to make it suitable for all handicappers; the fairways have been improved and widened while the greens have been levelled off. You are also treated to some magnificent views over the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and on a clear day you can see the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.

Alcaidesa Heathland

18 holes, 72 par, 6671 yards. Heathland.

This new course designed by Dave Thomas offers a variety of natural landscapes, ranging from the plateau area (holes 1 to 5 & 17 & 18 ) where the course has the feel of a Heathland course with wide fairways and outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea, as well as the local mountain ranges (including the sierra Nevada), to the river valley where the holes meander along the valley and incorporate various water features/hazards.

The San Roque Old Course

18 holes, 72 par, 7099 yards. Parkland.

This long golf course was originally designed by Dave Thomas but has since had the bunkers redesigned by the legendary Seve Ballesteros. It played host to the Spanish Open in 2005 and was voted the number 10 golf course in Spain by Golf Digest Magazine. Its main features are tight, sloping fairways that demand straight, accurate driving to achieve a low score. Bunkers have been strategically placed and deceptive water hazards also threaten, but those who gamble may just get the rewards they were looking for.

The San Roque New Course

18 holes, 72 par, 7244 yards. Parkland.

The newest edition to the resort has been made with both amateurs and professionals in mind, as there are five different tee positions on every hole. It played host to the Spanish Open in 2006 and was designed by the renowned American, Perry Dye. With wider fairways than The Old Course there is more room for error, but you'll only be rewarded if you use canny tactics and skilful positioning.
