The capital of the Algarve, for many Faro is simply the location of the airport where you arrive to begin your golf holiday. That would be to do it a disservice though, as it is a great base for a golf break in its own right, with the added advantage of less transfer time at either end of the break. While less well known than other regions, there is still plenty to keep you occupied off the course.

The golf around Faro is second to none. San Lorenzo, Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago are all easily accessible when staying in Faro, and are rightly regarded as some of the best courses in the whole of Portugal. Playing at any of them will guarantee you a break to remember.
