Gullane No.2 Course overview
A par-71 and at just under 6400 yards off the tips, Gullane No.2 is shorter than its older sibling but provides an equally stern test. Consistently ranked amongst Scotland’s top 50 courses, final qualifying for the Open Championship has been held at this Willie Park layout, which runs alongside No.1 for the first seven holes before sweeping down to a nature reserve next to Aberlady Bay, and then turning for home at 13.
The beautiful East Lothian coastline provides an enviable backdrop throughout, but don’t let this distract you!
Signature hole
The par-3 11th hole at 215 yards from the tips is probably the best short hole on the course, invariably playing into the prevailing wind to a front-to-back- sloping green and with gorgeous views of Aberlady Bay.
Did You Know?
The then current Open Champion Willie Park Jnr laid down Gullane No.2 in 1898 for ten guineas (about $15 in today’s money).
