Estepona

18 holes, 72 par, 6560 yards. Parkland.

This fine track incorporates the natural landscape beautifully and is set against the Sierra Bermeja mountain range as well as enjoying sea views from most parts of the course. There is plenty of room for error as the fairways are wide and the greens large, but accuracy is key if you want to avoid those long putts. There are many palms, eucalyptus and wild olive trees skirting the fairways and combined with sea views on almost every hole you'll want to have some time out to take it all in. The signature hole is the 10th par 4 (pictured), which is many players favoured hole particularly in Matchplay. If you are bold or stupid you can go for the green in one which will necessitate a carry of more than 240 metres. This makes it a great hole in Matchplay because it can turn a tight game on it's head, The clover shape green is surrounded by water as well as sand hazards. The newly renovated club house is welcoming as the 19th hole and the restaurant offers good quality, fresh produce.

Doña Julia Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6224 yards. Parkland.

The course offers two very different lay-outs, being suitable for any type of player. The front 9 is longer and more testing, winding between indigenous trees, lakes and rivers while the back 9 is more manageable, having a gentle incline, and being within a close proximity to the sea. The entire course was made to USGA specifications, ensuring that golfers can expect a fair test every time they play. By being sensible off the tee, you'll put yourself in a great position to shoot that low score you're looking for.

The gorgeous golf course at Finca Cortesin hotel

Finca Cortesín

18 holes, 72 par, 7439 yards. Parkland.

Finca Cortesin boasts an immaculately manicured 18 hole championship golf course using high quality Bermuda grass for the fairways. Cabell Robinson designed this masterpiece and has purposefully created it to make every hole different. This is just one of the reasons that makes this golf course such an enjoyable round. Each hole has several tee boxes that will cater for all levels of golfers. The greens are well protected by white marble sand filled bunkers that are strategically placed around the golf course. Without doubt, the greens are what make for such an enjoyable round. They all have gentle breaks and the consistency and quality can make them very fast.

Club house view

La Duquesa

18 holes, 72 par, 6714 yards. Parkland.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, La Duquesa winds round the local scenery with magnificent views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and to Africa. The demanding course requires accurate driving and concentration. Some of the fairways can be a little tight and you will have to resist the temptation of a driver and choose a long iron instead. The par 3s will live long in the memory, particularly the 17th as there is a drop of some 20 metres to the green that is only 109 yards away. Another factor is the breeze hat can make playing that little bit more difficult although it can be very refreshing in the warmer months
