Golf courses

Dunston Hall Golf Club  has a beautiful USGA rated golf course that meanders through stunning parkland scenery. This fantastic course makes Dunston Hall a great golfing destination and it comes as no great surprise that this is one of our most sought after venues.

Formerly known as De Vere Dunston Hall, this resort is located in Dunston, just a few miles south of Norwich, Norfolk. Dunston Hall hotel information

The 4* Elizabethan-style mansion is surrounded by 250 acres of stunning wooded Norfolk parkland. This is a fantastic venue, which will provide you with a luxurious golf break and exceptional service. The Dunston Hall hotel is an elegant Grade II listed country house, built in 1885 by Robert Kellet-Long and boasts many of the beautiful original features, helping it to retain its beloved character.

The hotel has 158 bedrooms and 11 luxury suites all stylishly decorated with some retaining period features. Each room features an en-suite bath and shower, flat screen TV with satellite and some Sky channels, radio, work desk with lamp, coffee and tea facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi.  Many of the hotel rooms have views down the sweeping driveway or wooded parkland.

Now run by QHotels, the former De Vere Dunston Hall offers a number of fantastic dining options to enjoy during your stay. The Brasserie Bar and Grill provides a buffet style menu with a range of superb hot and cold dishes. For a more relaxed atmosphere then we suggest trying the Bunkers restaurant. Like all classic clubhouse restaurants, the Bunkers Restaurant offers simple and tasty food which is always welcome following a round of golf. The Terrace Bar is another fine addition to Dunston Hall golf resort, serving anything from lights snacks to elegant cocktails.

As a guest you will also have unrestricted access to the indoor pool, two-floor gym, sauna, steam room and whirlpool for an evening work out, or if you’re looking for a day off of the Dunston Hall Golf Course.

Spa information

When you aren’t playing golf, ease away any stresses and strains by enjoying a range of treatments in the health and beauty centre.  However you choose to unwind, their experienced and highly qualified therapists will be happy to recommend a treatment bespoke to your needs leaving you feeling revived and refreshed.

Things to see and do

Why not explore some of the fantastic local attractions, such as Norwich Castle, Go Ape and Banham Zoo. Alternatively, go shopping at Chapelfields or take a walk round Blickling Hall’s beautiful historic park.

The service in the dining room was the problem there appeared to be many staff but they were all doing different jobs and no one person was looking after each table therefore waiting for orders to be delivered to the table was not very good.

Other services in the hotel reception, bar staff, and cleaning staff were superb.

We were required to select our starter and dessert before going. What arrived was not what described on the selection choices. I.e. normal cucumber instead of pickled cucumber; chocolate brownie with ice cream instead of chocolate sponge with custard.
Main course selections were the same on both days, and not overly inspiring.
Breakfast okay, especially requested freshly cooked food.
When booking in all in the party had different quality of room ranging from executive suite to bog standard. Some had robes, others not! One couple were told their room was not available as other people were in it. Had to wait over half an hour for it to be sorted.
