Dunston Hall 4* Details

Dunston Hall hotel information

The 4* Elizabethan-style mansion is surrounded by 250 acres of stunning wooded Norfolk parkland. This is a fantastic venue, which will provide you with a luxurious golf break and exceptional service. The Dunston Hall hotel is an elegant Grade II listed country house, built in 1885 by Robert Kellet-Long and boasts many of the beautiful original features, helping it to retain its beloved character.

The hotel has 158 bedrooms and 11 luxury suites all stylishly decorated with some retaining period features. Each room features an en-suite bath and shower, flat screen TV with satellite and some Sky channels, radio, work desk with lamp, coffee and tea facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi.  Many of the hotel rooms have views down the sweeping driveway or wooded parkland.

Now run by QHotels, the former De Vere Dunston Hall offers a number of fantastic dining options to enjoy during your stay. The Brasserie Bar and Grill provides a buffet style menu with a range of superb hot and cold dishes. For a more relaxed atmosphere then we suggest trying the Bunkers restaurant. Like all classic clubhouse restaurants, the Bunkers Restaurant offers simple and tasty food which is always welcome following a round of golf. The Terrace Bar is another fine addition to Dunston Hall golf resort, serving anything from lights snacks to elegant cocktails.

As a guest you will also have unrestricted access to the indoor pool, two-floor gym, sauna, steam room and whirlpool for an evening work out, or if you’re looking for a day off of the Dunston Hall Golf Course.

Spa information

When you aren’t playing golf, ease away any stresses and strains by enjoying a range of treatments in the health and beauty centre.  However you choose to unwind, their experienced and highly qualified therapists will be happy to recommend a treatment bespoke to your needs leaving you feeling revived and refreshed.

Things to see and do

Why not explore some of the fantastic local attractions, such as Norwich Castle, Go Ape and Banham Zoo. Alternatively, go shopping at Chapelfields or take a walk round Blickling Hall’s beautiful historic park.

In general very good

We have been to Dunston Hall many times to stay and play golf, but this time we noticed a definite drop in the usual standard overall.
The pro shop were very helpful and we enjoyed the course despite the weather on Monday morning.
We opted for the carvery as we had been satisfied previously, but this was certainly not up to standard. No green veg was available, all the other veg were roast even the new potatoes, all dripping in oil. The service was adequate but not the usual friendly atmosphere we have been used to.
The room was comfortable but the bathroom needed a thorough clean.
Unfortunately , we will now look for somewhere else for our golf breaks.

Everything was good. Room very comfortable and clean. £11 for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc is a bit excessive. Food OK but not brilliant. Pool and sauna good and not too busy. Free wifi worked well. People friendly but not all were very polished.
