    Dunston Hall 4* Details

    Dunston Hall hotel information

The 4* Elizabethan-style mansion is surrounded by 250 acres of stunning wooded Norfolk parkland. This is a fantastic venue, which will provide you with a luxurious golf break and exceptional service. The Dunston Hall hotel is an elegant Grade II listed country house, built in 1885 by Robert Kellet-Long and boasts many of the beautiful original features, helping it to retain its beloved character.

The hotel has 158 bedrooms and 11 luxury suites all stylishly decorated with some retaining period features. Each room features an en-suite bath and shower, flat screen TV with satellite and some Sky channels, radio, work desk with lamp, coffee and tea facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi.  Many of the hotel rooms have views down the sweeping driveway or wooded parkland.

Now run by QHotels, the former De Vere Dunston Hall offers a number of fantastic dining options to enjoy during your stay. The Brasserie Bar and Grill provides a buffet style menu with a range of superb hot and cold dishes. For a more relaxed atmosphere then we suggest trying the Bunkers restaurant. Like all classic clubhouse restaurants, the Bunkers Restaurant offers simple and tasty food which is always welcome following a round of golf. The Terrace Bar is another fine addition to Dunston Hall golf resort, serving anything from lights snacks to elegant cocktails.

As a guest you will also have unrestricted access to the indoor pool, two-floor gym, sauna, steam room and whirlpool for an evening work out, or if you’re looking for a day off of the Dunston Hall Golf Course.

    Spa information

When you aren’t playing golf, ease away any stresses and strains by enjoying a range of treatments in the health and beauty centre.  However you choose to unwind, their experienced and highly qualified therapists will be happy to recommend a treatment bespoke to your needs leaving you feeling revived and refreshed.

    Things to see and do

Good hotel and one of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel. Staff very friendly & helpful. My only complaint was with the communication between Golfbreaks and the hotel.

We booked a 3 night half board golfing break. This included a timed sitting in the restaurant and their buffet dinner. We could order al a carte but there was a value limit, above which we would have to pay.

However, there was no buffet dinner, so dinner had to be al a carte for each night. To us half board is at least a 3 course meal, but there was no combination of the al a carte menu where you could have a 3 course meal within this value limit.

The restaurant was full for our first two nights and they had no record of our timed table reservation which was on the Golfbreaks confirmation. The staff however fitted us in, although this was an hour earlier than we thought had been booked.

In conclusion, good hotel, good staff, good food & golf. But beware of Golfbreaks description and communications.

Visited a few times primarily to play golf and find it is ideal for a short break. Since taking over Q hotels have spent some money redecorating. Some areas are still a little tired, but it didn't spoil our stay.
