Ashburnham Golf Course

18 holes, 72 par, 6624 yards. Links.

The Ashburnham Golf Course is a challenging links golf course with dangerous out of bounds to be found down much of the right hand side of many holes. It overlooks the Camarthan Bay and is regarded as one of the best links golf courses in Britain. The round measures in at 6,624-yards and those who can find the fairways will have a great advantage. While you are there why not try to beat the modest sounding golf course record of 66 shots, which shows how tough it really is.

Southerndown Golf Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6449 yards. Heathland / Links.

A unique links style course that is made up of gorse and bracken, there are no bunkers or water hazards but this course challenges all golfers. Every April the famous 72 championship Duncan Putter event is held and attracts some of the best amateur's. Southerndown is renowned for it's first hole being famously referred to as one of the most difficult opening holes in golf, an unmissable experience. Millionaire's golf!!

Pennard Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6225 yards. Links.

There is not a weak or a prosaic hole on this short gorse and heather framed, 6,225 yard, par 71 track. Awkward lies and stances are a matter of course and the rugged terrain becomes even more dramatic on the back nine. The holes are routed over classically undulating and tumbling linksland, full of hummocks, hillocks and hollows and pocked with dunes large and small; in sum, exactly what we might hope to find beside the shore.

Fairwood Park Golf Course

18 holes, 73 par, 6644 yards. Parkland.

This 6,700 yard course was twice chosen as the venue for the Welsh PGA Championship during the 1990s and is therefore the only course in the County of Swansea to boast ‘Championship’ status

Gower Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6441 yards. Parkland.

The par 71, 6,441 yard Gower Golf Course was designed by Donald Steel and was constructed to USGA specification ensuring a quality round of golf all year round. Set on the Gower peninsula, the course provides the perfect combination of undisturbed golf with great views over the Loughor Estuary and the West Wales Coast. There are various contours, trees and hazards to avoid with water coming to play on several holes. All of this has made The Gower one of the best new courses in Wales and has lead to it recently been designated a 'Welsh Golf Union' championship venue for 2007.

Royal Porthcawl Golf Course

18 holes, 72 par, 7065 yards. Links.

There are very few links golf courses in the UK that match Royal Porthcawl Golf Club for quality, making it the perfect golf venue to include in the itinerary for your golf break to South Wales. Ryder Cup captain and former Masters champion Ian Woosnam, and legend Tiger Woods are just two of the names from the golfing arena that have put their abilities to the test on this historic golf course. At just over 7,000 yards Royal Porthcawl isn’t for the faint-hearted - with strong winds present on every hole and a tough layout, even the best of golfers will struggle to score well here.
