We had to upgrade to an exec room for our child, they had some toys and gifts for her, which was a nice touch.

When we asked if we can keep our room for an extra hour to 1200 as we wanted to swim from 1000-1200 we were flatly turned down saying we had to check out by 1100, because they were too busy on a Monday. I dont believe it for 1 second they are that busy. We were not allowed to check in till after 3pm. We arrived at 2pm, so had to play golf first at 2:30pm. When I compare this to other hotels and golf breaks I have stayed, we have always been allowed to check in early and keep the room for an extra hour. But not Donnington Valley.

The exec room was very nice, had a bit 48in tv and I was able to watch the Master's final on sunday on a big TV. I could have watched more of the Masters final if my dinner didn't take 2 hours. The room has aircon that works and also heating that works. Very nice kingsize bed. Massive bathroom was also very nice.

Restaurant was very slow, it took us over 2 hours to complete our evening meal after sitting down. I upgraded to a exmoor rib eye steak which cost £7 extra. The Steak was on the wrong side of being tough and not particularly tasty. Very disappointed. The extra side dish of onion rings was very good though.

Breakfast was a whole new experience, it was one of the worst breakfast I have had. There was no bacon, no scramble eggs, no bake beans, one sausage left. We had to wait 25 mins for the bacon to turn up. Terrible coordination of the stock of food. Very tight on the butter, they bring a little disc of butter, you cannot get butter on your own.
