- Craigielaw is a relatively modern course, set back from the true links-land. It has wide fairways and huge elevated greens protected by deep bunkers. I enjoyed playing here, but still preferred the shorter Kilspindie course next door. The first 9 is generally better than the second, as I disliked the section with the stone walls and houses.
I played in March in very cold , windy conditions and found the round challenging, but still played to my handicap.
The views all around are really great as you look over the bay to Gullane Hill and. Berwick Law, and I listened to skylarks singing; saw brown hares; curlew, and a few oyster catchers as I made my way around.
