Golf courses
The two on-site golf courses consist of Pinta and Gramacho. Pinta is the harder of these two great golf courses and Gramacho enjoys an 18 hole, 27 green layout.
Pestana Golf Resort offers three magnificent golf courses in the fantastic Algarve region - Gramacho, Vale da Pinta and Silves Golf. There is also the Pestana Golf Academy which is located in the heart of the Pinta golf course and is a major attraction for golfers. All courses blend naturally into the undulating landscape with the fairways weaving artistically around the ancient olive trees. These three superb golf courses have been designed by golf architects Ron Fream and Nick Price and the Academy is a David Letterbetter creation. This is a fantastic golf resort and should be a top option for an Algarve holiday.
Pinta (Pestana Golf Resort - Carvoeiro)
Pinta Golf Course opened for play in 1992 and has a reputation for always being in excellent condition. This course has imported Bermuda grass to insure that the fairways are always in the finest form. This is a par 71, 6,728 yard golf course and is perfect for those golf connoisseurs. Most of the par 4’s and par 5’s utilise a dog leg and put major emphasis on accurate driving. Water hazards add to the challenge by coming into play and affecting four holes on the front nine.

Gramacho (Pestana Golf Resort - Carvoeiro)
Gramacho is Pinta’s sister course and is the second 18 hole championship course located at Carvoeiro Golf Club. It played host to the 2005 Portuguese Ladies Open and is one the few courses with 18 sets of tees and fairways but 27 greens. There are many exciting features on this golf course such as the outcrops of rock, dry stone walls, fig, almond, carob and olive trees and of course the bunkers and lakes. With a mixture of these hazards and the combination of the shapes of the fairways and greens this golf course can produce a great selection of challenging but fair golf holes.

Silves (Pestana Golf Resort - Carvoeiro)
Silves Golf Course is set in a serene spot with spectacular mountain and valley views and is definitely anything other than a walk in the park. The drive at the opening hole has to negotiate two water hazards on both flanks but a straight shot will reward the player with an easy uphill approach shot. Silves is a great golf course that encourages and rewards attacking play.

This superb course opened in 2003 but belies its years, it feels surprisingly mature featuring views of the Monchique Mountains and is set amongst valleys, rivers and woodland.

Palmares Golf Course opened in 1975 and is a wonderful varied course which has five of its 18 holes winding through the dunes along the Atlantic coast and with the remaining thirteen laid out over gently undulating fairways.

A wonderful collection of townhouses and villas makes up this impressive golf resort. There are two golf courses on-site, a tennis academy, swimming pools and even a 5-a-side football pitch.
Pestana Golf Resort has an outstanding range of stylish accommodation. It consists of 115 apartments and 169 villas set in superbly maintained gardens. All the accommodation is brightly decorated and comfortably furnished. They are spacious and well equipped, featuring fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, washing machines and central heating.
Each apartment has access to the communal swimming pool and the villas have their own private pools. The Pestana Golf Resort has excellent sporting facilities and not only does it have brilliant golf courses, but there are also two tennis courts, eight bowling greens, a 5-a-side soccer pitch, a basketball court and swimming pools - making Pestana a particularly great place for the sporting enthusiast.
