Buddon Course

18 holes, 66 par, 5400 yards. Links.

Originally designed by Peter Allis and David Thomas, the Buddon golf course has been extensively remodelled to make it more appealing to the average golfer, but remains a fine complement to the Championship golf course. It is shorter than the Burnside golf course but certainly tests the players control and accuracy particularly on the 7th, 9th, 11th and 12th holes.

Burnside Course

18 holes, 68 par, 6020 yards. Links.

The back tees of The Burnside offer a spectacular test of golf and, although often overshadowed by its renowned neighbour, it provides golfers with dramatic challenges throughout. The 17th hole in particular offers one of the hardest par 4’s that can be found anywhere in golf.

Championship Course

18 holes, 72 par, 6941 yards. Links.

Well renowned for being the toughest test in Open Championship golf, the Championship golf course has been recognised as one of the top three courses in the country. This 18 hole golf course has seen great players flounder, including Jean Van de Velde in 1999, who let slip a three stoke lead to lose to Paul Lawrie. A real challenge with the potential to offer some of the most rewarding golf you will ever play.

Championship Course

18 holes, 72 par, 6941 yards. Links.

The Championship Course has been the host to the Open six times. This fantastic golf course has been voted the top golf course in Scotland by many of the golfing greats and has been described as the regions ultimate golfing challenge. The 1999 Open captured the public’s imagination as some of the game’s greatest players floundered. Jean van de Velde’s disastrous last hole will always be remembered when he let slip a three stroke lead to lose to Paul Lawrie in the play off. Although a tough golf course, it will provide you with a terrific golfing experience.

Burnside Course

18 holes, 68 par, 6020 yards. Links.

The Burnside Golf Course is slightly shorter than the Championship Golf Course yet it is full of character and provides a great introduction to the exciting world of links golf. Watch out for the 17th which has proven to be one of the hardest par 4’s.

Buddon Course

18 holes, 66 par, 5400 yards. Links.

The Buddon Links Golf Course was opened in 1979 and has now been extensively remodelled to make it more enjoyable for the average golfer, although some of the holes are quite tough and would not be out of place on the Championship Golf Course.

Panmure Golf Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6317 yards. Links.

Laid out in 1899, although the club was formed more than fifty years earlier. Ben Hogan practiced here for his open win at Carnoustie in 1953 and the 387 yard sixth was a particular favourite of his. There are many fine holes on this course with the 12th being another memorable challenge, a twisting burn guarding the green’s approach.

Scotscraig Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6550 yards. Links.

The Scotscraig Golf Course has developed over the years to become the distinguished links that it is today. Originally founded in 1817, it is the 13th oldest course in the world and boasts a heathland nature despite its close proximity to the sea. The Par 4, 4th is the most memorable hole, despite being only 366 yards, but only well positioned shots will prove successful in dominating this small plateau green. The left of the fairway is protected by large revetted bunkers and a heathery terrain to the right awaits wayward shots. The Par 5, 14th, also sets golfers a challenge. At 523 yards, good positing is crucial to reach the well guarded green. Whatever level of golfer you may be, Scotscraig offers an enjoyable challenge to all. Competitive coaching packages are available if you wish for a better round of golf or you can simply practice your technique on the putting greens. If a memorable and challenging golf experience is what you desire then Scotscraig Golf Course is the place to be.
