At just under 6000 yards off the yellow tees, Cardiff Golf Club is a great test of parkland golf with some stunning holes throughout. Renowned for small putting surfaces and well guarded greens, distance control is key to hitting greens in regulation. Blessed with mature trees and a stream running through some of the holes, it is hard to believe you are just a short distance away from the vibrant Cardiff City Centre. This is a fantastic course, offering exciting parkland golf and views of beautiful scenery.

Creigiau Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6063 yards. Parkland.

Creigiau Golf Club is a superb place to play golf. The mature parkland, tight fairways and numerous water features culminate in a special 18 hole golf course. Wildlife is a feature of this course with various species of wild animals around the course, adding a unique factor to the round. The conservation of the land has helped Creigiau win the Welsh Golf Club of the year 3 times, in the environmental category. All in all, this is superb parkland golf has many memorable holes and perfect on a Cardiff City Golf Tour.

Royal Porthcawl Golf Course

There are very few links golf courses in the UK that match Royal Porthcawl Golf Club for quality, making it the perfect golf venue to include in the itinerary for your golf break to South Wales. Ryder Cup captain and former Masters champion Ian Woosnam, and legend Tiger Woods are just two of the names from the golfing arena that have put their abilities to the test on this historic golf course. At just over 7,000 yards Royal Porthcawl isn’t for the faint-hearted - with strong winds present on every hole and a tough layout, even the best of golfers will struggle to score well here.

Mackintosh Golf Course

18 holes, 72 par, 6356 yards. Parkland.

At 6,407-yards off the whites, the Mackintosh Course uses the natural terrain to challenge golfers with a mature, undulating parkland style that will challenge the best of golfers. Equally, the superb drainage on the golf course makes it playable all year round and the great views across the Vale of Glamorgan countryside make for a real treat while playing a truly enjoyable track.

Button Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6229 yards. Parkland.

Excellent views, as far as the Brecon Beacons on a clear day, make this a particularly enjoyable round. At 6,123-yards it’s not the longest golf course, but with 13 lakes and ponds spread throughout the 18 holes there will be some challenging shots to keep even the lowest handicappers on their toes.
