Villamartin Golf Course Details

Villamartin Golf Course introduction

This golf course is a real gem, with plenty of interesting holes on offer to push golfers to the limit – low to mid handicappers should take extra care. It has also hosted many tournaments over the years, so there is something special here.

Villamartin Golf Course information

18 holes, 72 par, 6132 yards. Parkland.

This golf course was designed by Paul Putman and opened in 1972, making it one of the most established and matured golf courses in Valencia. It has been designed to fit closely with the natural terrain of the land, allowing for ravines and valleys to come into play, particularly in the back 9 holes. Olive trees frame some of the holes to add to the difficulty of the greens. Elevated tees in the first 9 holes show off the amazing views of the coastline in the distance, but adds to the challenge with the prevailing wind. The signature hole is the par 3 17th, with an elevated tee in which a strong drive is required to get past the water running across the fairway and ravine, to the tiered green. There are plenty of bunkers and trees surrounding, and accuracy can make or break you on this hole. There is also a pro shop, driving range, practise putting green, chipping area & bunker - ideal practice facilities before you head onto the golf course.

Omagh Love Golf
Lovely well kept course, some great shots to be played, an awful lot of trees, including the middle of fairways, but overall not bad.
Biggest gripe, having to park the car on a busy road side and carry clubs etc across the road to get to check in and buggies. Also could do with a 'drinks' buggy!
Nice club house!

On arrival we found we were to play behind 3, 4balls which had already played the back 9 holes.
This caused very slow play, making us hold up games behind us, no fault of ours.
