    Braid Hills Golf Course Details

    Braid Hills Golf Course introduction

Braid Hills is a historic gem of a golf course, commanding unrivalled panoramic views across the Scottish capital. There are a variety of memorable holes using the natural contours and native gorse bushes to shape the course. Braid Hills is a very special place to play golf, especially when the yellow flowers blossom on the course.

    Braid Hills Golf Course information

    18 holes, 71 par, 5865 yards. Heathland.

Although Braid Hills lacks length compared to the modern day golf courses, it more than makes up for it with the number of testing golf shots from one hilly crag to another. This is a course that rewards accuracy and punishes wayward shots. It is a heathland golf course with elements of moorland as well, which offers anyone playing some beautiful scenery and interesting holes. Known for its elevated tees and club selection importance, this is a great addition to the Edinburgh City Golf Tour.

    Braid Hills Golf Course Location

10 minutes South of Edinburgh City Centre.

Very different from the other two courses we played during our break. Fantastic views over Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth and a whilst not long, a challenging course which requires a deal of accuracy unless you want to be scrambling about in gorse bushes all day! The first few holes are a bit disappointing, but once you get into it they get better. The greens were a bit rough compared to the beauties we had been on in N.Berwick and Gullane. No clubhouse facilities to speak of, so go to the Hermitage Gastropub in nearby Morningside afterwards instead - which is superb!
