Blackpool North Shore Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6431 yards. Links.

Blackpool North Shore Golf Course is located just 500 yards away from the North Promenade and a short drive from the city centre of Blackpool. The beautiful links course is 6,431-yards in length and is the current venue for the Lancashire PGA Championship. Making full use of the natural, undulating landscape the Blackpool North Shore Golf Club is a fantastic course for players of all abilities and a great stop on a Blackpool tour.

Knott End Golf Course

18 holes, 69 par, 5849 yards. Parkland / Links.

You'll need to be confident with the driver on the first five holes of this course, as it runs alongside the River Wyre and when the tide is up anything sliced will come to a watery end. Throughout your round there are some stunning views to be had of Morecambe Bay, the Lake District and even the Welsh Mountains on a clear day. Don't let the 11th hole trick you though, as the 123 yard par 3 is surrounded by water and out of bounds making it a test of nerves, especially when the wind's up!

St Anne's Old Links

18 holes, 72 par, 6684 yards. Links.

St Anne’s Old Links Course is a beautiful seaside course set amongst sand dunes and with a challenging wind that will cause trouble for even the best of players. For a links course it’s an interesting challenge, and unusual in that it features water on 6 of the holes as an extra distraction, and measures in at an impressive 6,684-yards, making distance as important as accuracy. St Anne’s Old Links has been used as an Open Championship qualifying course in the past, proving its worth as a well-maintained and challenging track, which is ideal for players of all abilities.

Lytham Green Drive Golf Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6305 yards. Links.

Don't be fooled by its apparent lack of length, at 6,305 yards it is indeed short by modern standards, but very small, well bunkered greens provide a more than adequate test. The outward half is where your score must be made and although the back nine contains three par 3s, all of which are particularly testing, its long par 4s will generally account for any shots saved on the front nine.

Hotel Exterior

Herons Reach

18 holes, 72 par, 6205 yards. Parkland.

De Vere Village Herons Reach Golf Resort is a challenging par 72 golf course which is always in superb condition. There are water features on no less than 12 holes on this championship golf course and, although set in 236 acres of beautiful parkland, there is a links feel as it is only seven miles from the coast. The sea breeze comes into play here making this course a great test of judgment and accuracy. In order to fine tune your game, you may choose to make good use of the PGA golf Academy and the coaching that is available for those staying at the hotel.

The Herons’ Reach golf course has played host to numerous finals of the De Vere PGA North Region Championships, and with holes such as the stunning 16th signature hole with Blackpool Tower as a back drop, it is clear to see why it continues to be a very popular destination golf resort.

Watch out for the bunkers

Royal Lytham and St Anne's

18 holes, 71 par, 6360 yards. Links.

Established in 1886, Royal Lytham has held ten British Opens and two Ryder Cups and is a fine place to sense the history and traditions of the game and walk in the fairways of famous men. It has the perfect combination of wide fairways, length of rough and pace and quality of greens.
