Available courses

Royal Troon course, fairway

Portland Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6289 yards. Links.

The Portland Course, also a links, is a little more sheltered than the Old Course and, of course, shorter. The holes meander through terrain filled with gorse and broom and has a generous helping of par 3's, five in all. This is tempered however, with four par 5's, all of which are on the back nine.

Royal Troon course, undulating approach

Old Course

18 holes, 71 par, 7119 yards. Links.

The Royal Troon Old Course has held The Open Championship seven times. It is one of the great links courses in Scotland and with the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential. Players should make their scores on the outward nine, as the prevailing north-westerly wind can make the back nine extremely difficult.

Prestwick Golf Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6668 yards. Links.

The 18 hole golf course was stretched by Old Tom Morris to meet golfing standards but the traditional essence of the old course still remains with many of the original greens still in play. Natural obstacles make for a testing game of golf, including The River Pow, which flows freely through the course. A putting green and driving range are available for guests to practice their techniques in preparation for a memorable game of golf. The clubhouse underwent a major refurbishment and extension in 2001 to provide golfers with the perfect resting place after a challenging game of golf. Its character and history highlights an extensive collection of memorabilia which wonderfully illustrates the history of golf.

Turnberry Resort

Ailsa Course

18 holes, 70 par, 6976 yards. Links.

The Ailsa Golf Course hosted Turnberrys’ first Open Championship in 1977. The competition saw an International duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson as they went head-to-head to produce one of the greatest final days in Open history. You will find stunning natural beauty around this golf course which lays the way for a difficult round. There is definitely a need for shot accuracy around this one. This golf course has long been considered as one of the best in the world so it's no wonder that this course was the choice for the Open Championship in 2009.

Kintyre Course

18 holes, 71 par, 6376 yards. Links.

The Kintyre Championship golf course is renowned as offering golf at its best. Consisting of undulating fairways and challenging pot bunkers makes this a tricky round of golf. The elevations, peaks and troughs built into the terrain create beautiful perspectives of the surrounding scenery as well as adding a stern challenge to your round of golf. However, you are treated to stunning views and relaxing shoreline holes which do offer some respite for the struggling golfer.
