Accommodation
The Vila Galé Albacora has 157 well appointed rooms, the hotel has a unique architectural and cultural setting in the middle of the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa.
More information on accommodationThe eastern part of the Algarve is relatively undiscovered and now has a good selection of hotels of which the Albacora is one. Located in a beautiful spot located in the midst of the Ria Formosa natural park, this hotel offers many of the usual facilities associated with hotels in the Algarve – outdoor and indoor pools, steam bath, a jacuzzi and several restaurants and bars – but also has a few idiosyncratic and quite interesting facets. These include a museum (on the history of tuna fishing in the area), a chapel and several buildings within the compound of great architectural and historical significance. There’s also a bus both to and from the beach and the adjoining city of Tavira. The hotel itself has 162 rooms and is within short driving distance of four good 18 hole golf courses.
Did you know?
The Vila Galé Albacora was originally the site of a fish market.
